The Best Free 2016 Calendar in Frankston

Each year I keep an eye out in the shops for their complimentary calendars. I'm really stoked with this year's find. My pharmacy has these beautiful, complimentary 2016 pictorial wall calendars.

Not only are the images really striking (I make no comment on their real Vs digital-ness, only that they're nice to look at), the whole calendar is printed on a nice card stock, heavier than your usual giveaway calendar paper.  It feels nice in your hand, and the images are reproduced in a good quality.

The photos are all titled and credited, but I can't find any publishing info about the calendar.

In more ways than one,  I'm going to enjoy turning the page to see what each new month in 2016 is going to look like.  I hope that my Lyfe has at least some moments each month as beautiful as its calendar image.

JeansRedeemed - my new micro-Empire enterprise

I've had this concept as part of the greater VelvetGecko enterprise for a while. Originally it started off as an idea to make quilt cover sets out of old jeans, but has opened out a little bit from there.

It's Summer, and as a way of getting things going,  I've been making Daisy Duke-style shorts out of some of the jeans I've collected.  It has been a bit of a nerve-racking experience, with some of my experiments turning out less than impressive, but I'm pretty happy now with how they are turning out in general, and have been filling my ideas journal with lots of designs and concepts.  I have a lot of fun going to op shops and finding beautiful things to decorate them with.  I'm trying to do lots of different "looks" as well as a huge range of sizes, in the hope that there is something for all tastes.  I haven't forgotten the boys, but it's a different aesthetic and I haven't got anything finished yet that the general jeans-shorts-wearing guy would probably like.

But yeah, shut up and make pictures already!

These ones are probably the closest thing to unisex that I have finished atm.

They're a straight cut men's work jean. Dip-bleached.  I Like the way the bleach crept up the side.

I tied-dyed these Levis with bleach, and added this gorgeous hand-crocheted cotton lace that I found in a local op shop.

I'll be posting a selection of these shorts regularly, so check back in if you want to see more designs, or if you prefer facebooky, check out www.facebook.com//JeansRedeemed
